Monica S. Cameron is from a small town west of Wichita, Kansas. She has been involved in the legal field since high school when she was selected to attend the prestigious National Youth Leadership Forum on Law in Washington, D.C.

Monica graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washburn University with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Legal Studies. While working towards her Bachelors' degree and maintaining a full-time class schedule, Monica worked full-time as a Legal Assistant in a law office that focused primarily on family law cases.

Monica's academic excellence earned a full-tuition scholarship to Washburn University School of Law, where she attained her Juris Doctorate. While in law school, Monica was elected Student Bar Association Secretary, Kansas Bar Association Representative, and International Law Society Faculty Liaison. She was also a member of the Family Law Society. Based on her superior legal writing and research skills, she was selected to mentor other law students as the Legal Analysis, Research and Writing Teacher's Assistant.

Monica completed a legislative internship at the Kansas Association for Justice, where she attended meetings of the Kansas House Judiciary Committee and analyzed proposed statutory amendments. She also completed legal internships at a district attorney's office and at the Washburn Law Clinic, where she litigated a variety of civil cases.

Monica is a former prosecutor with experience handling adult and juvenile misdemeanor and felony cases. She has extensive courtroom experience and is known for her written litigation skills.

In her free time, Monica teaches American Federal Government at Butler County Community College, volunteers with the Girl Scouts and the Alzheimer's Association, and actively participates with the Wichita Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals and the Wichita Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Committee, Bar-o-meter Committee, and Criminal Practice Committee.
