About Shannon Draughon Neiger

A native of the northwest, Shannon graduated with honors from the University of Washington in 2001 with her Bachelorette degree.  In 2004 Shannon earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Oregon School of Law.  Graduating in the top of her class, Shannon achieved course study focus certificates in the Public Interest and Public Service Program; the Criminal Practice Program and the Pro Bono Program.  During law school Shannon served on the Career Services committee, achieved her certificate in Mediation training, participated in Moot Court and served as a State Certified Public Defender for Lane County.  In 2003 Shannon sat for, and passed the Multi-State Professional Responsibility Exam and in 2004 sat for and passed the Washington State Bar Exam.   

Both during law school and following graduation Shannon worked as a Deputy Prosecutor for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Seattle Washington.  Shannon negotiated and litigated a variety of misdemeanor and felony cases in areas of law including: Domestic Violence; Drugs; Juvenile; Property Crime; Violent Crime; Misdemeanor Traffic and Appeals. In addition to participating in multiple ongoing training opportunities while at the Prosecutor’s Office, Shannon attended a week-long trial training course at the National College of District Attorneys at the National Advocacy Center in South Carolina.   

Shannon enjoys outdoor adventures of any type including SCUBA, mountain biking and snowboarding.  A good weekend may also include her dog and a fishing pole or just taking a hike in the mountains.  Shannon is committed to service work and has volunteered for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of King County, Community for Youth and has participated in various speaking engagements in the local community including Seattle University.
