Melissa A. Schwartz, Attorney at Law is the founder and managing attorney of Your Legal Service, PLLC.
Ms. Schwartz is a General Civil Mediator and member of the State Bar of Michigan, Federal Bar Association, American Trial Lawyer's Association, and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. She is the recipient of many academic and service awards, including the Spirit of Detroit award.
Ms. Schwartz earned her undergraduate degree in Family Life Education at Spring Arbor University with honors. She received her law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law where she was elected and served as class President; served as a law clerk intern to Chief Judge Bernard A. Friedman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan; and was a legal intern for the Wayne County Legal Aid & Public Defender's Office where she represented the interests of indigent defendants.
Ms. Schwartz has many years of experience in plaintiff and defense litigation. She has held the positions of Wayne County Crime Victim Advocate with the City of Detroit Police Department Investigative Officer's Unit; and Assistant Prosecutor.
Prior to earning her doctoral degree in law, Ms. Schwartz graduated in the medical field with honors. Her medical knowledge combined with her legal education has played a key role in the settlement of six-figure policy limit awards for dog bite and products liability injuries.
