Jonathan Scott is a senior partner at Scott & Scott, LLP. With more than twenty years of experience, Jonathan has built a global practice representing clients who range from multi-national corporations to local mid-market businesses.

Jonathan’s practice focuses on high-stakes complex commercial transactions and litigation. Jonathan has extensive experience negotiating multi-faceted business transactions involving information technology, intellectual property, and other business matters.

An expert in his field, Jonathan has published numerous articles addressing pertinent issues in today’s technology-centric business world. For example, his analysis of the document retention and production requirements for electronically-stored information under Fed R. Civ P. 26 appeared in a front page article published by the New York Law Journal and also in a special publication of the Connecticut Law Tribune. Jonathan's commentary on the applicability of a federal pre-emption defense to consumer class actions under state deceptive trade practices laws involving wireless carriers was published by the American Bar Association, Class Action and Derivative Suits Committee.

Jonathan served eight years as a board member in conjunction with the handling of product liability claims involving an aircraft manufacturer who had filed a Ch. 11 Bankruptcy Petition.

Jonathan is a member of the American Bar Association, Litigation Section, the American Bar Association, Class Action and Derivative Suits Committee, and the Dallas Bar Association. He was a presenter at the 2007 SecureWorld Expo, and Texas Lawyer’s 2007 E-Discovery Roundtable.
