). He is a highly experienced business attorney that devotes his practice to assisting companies navigate the daily array of legal challenges and opportunities with which they are faced. He has extensive experience in government contracting, corporate governance, software licensing, export controls, employment law and commercial contracts.
Prior to founding Whay Law, Mr. Whay worked at a law firm focusing on government contracts. He then worked as Corporate Counsel at GTSI Corp., a government contractor selling IT products and services to U.S. federal, state and local governments. After leaving GTSI, Mr. Whay became Corporate Counsel and Export Control Officer for Thales North America, Inc., part of a multinational corporation with annual revenues over $12 billion and 60,000 employees. He served as the primary counsel to Thales' worldwide operations for U.S. government contracts and U.S. export and import issues.
Mr. Whay holds a law degree from the Catholic University in Washington D.C., as well as an MBA from the University of Baltimore. He is licensed to practice law in Maryland and Virginia.
